What Is the Difference Between a New & Replacement Window?

And, they have a nail fin around the edge of the frame that allows them to be installed directly to the framing members of the home during construction. They are typically lower quality and simply designed to save on building costs.

Replacement windows, on the other hand, are designed to be installed after the brick or other material is already installed onto the side of the home. They do not need to be installed to the framing members of the home, and they can be removed and installed without causing any disruption to the existing home exterior material. They are generally much higher quality than new construction windows and are more energy efficient.
